Navajo Rugs
Navajo Rugs are woven by hand on a simple loom. They have been part of the Navajo culture and economy since the later 1800's. They were introduced by the traders as a way for Indians living on the reservation to earn a cash income.
We started collecting Navajo rugs in 1972, shortly after moving to New Mexico, USA. We are developing a Navajo rug website. We will be including pictures of rugs we have as well as details about how they are woven and techniques to make sure the Navajo rug you buy is genuine.
