Windmill Pictures – Green Power

Windmill Pictures is the website where we feature photographs of windmills.  We have pictures of modern wind turbines generating electricity in Wisconsin, USA.  We have pictures of windmills which used to provide the water for dairy farms in the midwest.  We have windmill pictures from the American southwest.  These used to fill the stock tanks for the range cattle which grazed in this parched land.

The older windmills are a transient sight.  They are exposed to all manner of environmental extremes.  Wind, hail, snow, ice, etc.  If they are neglected bearings dry out and parts fail.  If brakes fail the blades will spin to fast in a high wind and the stress destroys them.

Wind turbines are sprouting in more and more locations.  Funded by a combination of investment, vision, and tax credits they may provide a efficient methods for collecting energy from the wind.
